The Chattanooga Mocs men’s tennis seniors will look to secure a spot in the coveted national event through alternate status.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (October 26, 2026) – The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis program will feature a pair of alternate positions in the upcoming 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Conference Masters Championships held at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga., November 5-8, the league office announced Monday.
Senior Jakub Jupa has been named an alternate in the singles draw while Jupa and fellow senior Jaxon Lamb will carry alternate status in the doubles draw. The ITA event serves as a qualification pathway to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
In singles, the four semifinalists will earn automatic qualification spots into the NCAA Championships. In doubles, the two finalists (champion and runner-up) will also earn auto bids into the NCAA Championships.
Jupa and Lamb reached the Round of 16 (doubles) at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships held earlier this month to help earn the duo a spot on the ITA Masters alternate list. The tandem secured victories over duos from Belmont and Dayton in the opening rounds of 64 and 32 before having to withdraw from competition (inj.) in the round of 16 against Purdue's Nour Fathalla and Lorenzo Balducci.
