KIAWAH ISLAND---What a difference a day makes. The Chattanooga Mocs golf team improved 24 strokes under calmer skies at Turtle Point Course at the Kiawah Island Resort.
Lake Johnson's 69 keyed a 3-under 285 for the Mocs. The 285 was the low round of the day. Johnson's 69 was supported by
Luke Long with 70,
Connor Nolan's 72 and
Andrew Weathers' 74.
Phillip Hickam (75) and
Etienne Brault (80) turned in the drop scores.
The three individuals all turned in solid cards.
Will Porter shot 71 with
Oliver Simonsen right behind with 73.
A.J. Lintunen added a 74.
Weather is tied for sixth overall at 3-over 147. Johnson moved into a tie for 10th just a shot behind his teammate at 4 over. A trio of golfers sit atop the leaderboard at 1-over 145.
No. 26 Tennessee is the team leader at 8-over 584. UTC is second with a total of 594, which is four clear of Jacksonville State and Rutgers knotted in third at 598.
Today's 285 is the low round of the season thus far for the Mocs and the third par or better.

- Average score for the field in round two was 76.15. That's an improvement of 5.69 over yesterday's 18. The Mocs turned in 73.11 between all nine cards on site.
- UTC was 7 under combined on the par 4s (-1) and 5s (-6) today.
