Mocs at the Challenge in Music City

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's basketball team will wrap up a 15-day, eight-game start to the season with three games in the Challenge in Music City in Nashville, Tenn., over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Chattanooga has not ever faced Northwestern and Georgetown and this will be the 14th meeting between the Mocs and Auburn. Chattanooga has won three games in the series including the last meeting on November 24, 2013 at the McKenzie Arena. UTC came away with an 80-52 victory, its largest margin of victory over Auburn.
 
Chattanooga is 2-3 overall winning its last two games against Presbyterian and Indiana. UTC is averaging 57.8 points per game and leads the SoCon in 3-point field goals made with six per game. Keiana Gilbert leads the team in scoring with 14.4 points per game and second for rebounding with 5.4 boards per game. Lakelyn Bouldin is second on the team in scoring with 12.0 points per game and Aryanna Gilbert has a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game and is the third UTC player in double figures with 11.2 points per game.
 
Northwestern is one of 57 teams in the nation with an undefeated record with a 4-0 start to the season. The Wildcats are averaging 69.8 points per game, outscoring opponents by 15.8 points per game. They have wins over Chicago State, Oakland, UT Martin and Santa Clara. Abi Scheid leads four teammates in double figures with 15.3 points per game. Lindsey Pulliam is second on the team with 13.5 points per game and is 19-of-40 from the 3-point line. P. Kunaiyi-Akpanah is the only Wildcat averaging a double-double with 13.3 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Lydia Rohde is the fourth NU player in double figures with 10.3 points per game.
 
Georgetown is 2-1 with wins over Howard and Loyola before falling 65-54 at George Washington in its last outing. The Hoyas average 73 points and 47.3 rebounds per game. Dionna White leads the team with 20.3 points per game with 12 steals and 10 assists. Cynthia Petke has 15 points and 14.3 rebounds per game, shooting 48.4 percent from the field. Mikayla Venson is the third Hoya in double digits with 10.7 points per game.
 
Auburn is off to a 2-1 start to the season. After falling 72-63 to Virginia Tech in the opener, the Tigers have wins over North Carolina A&T and Louisiana Tech. Auburn averages 67 points per game and is shooting 38.9 percent from the field. They have 45 rebounds per game, outreaching its opponents by nine boards per game. Janiah McKay leads three Tigers in double figures with 19.7 points per game and is 11-of-14 from the free throw line. Daisa Alexander, making 6-of-16 from the 3-point line, is second on the team with 15 points per game. Unique Thompson, with a team-high nine blocked shots, is averaging a double-double with 12 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.
