Chattanooga Basketball Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga vs. Georgetown
Challenge in Music City
Municipal Center - Nashville, Tenn.
Saturday – Nov. 25, 2017
Head Coach Jim Foster
Opening Statement:
"They are very physical and they are very athletic. I thought we did a great job of defending. We had some bad turnovers, unforced turnovers that we have to eliminate. We can't have them.
'I thought our defense was solid. They come flying from a lot of different places for the offensive rebounds, but they weren't putting them back in. They did it sometimes in flurries, which makes the numbers seem worse than they really were."
On playing against Georgetown's inside players:
"They are very big and they are athletic. They come hard to the glass and they play hard. They play in a conference where if you don't play hard, you are in trouble."
On the play of Ashlyn Wert off the bench:
"She made a nice basket, reverse layup. She blocked some shots and there were some shots she should have attempted to block because they were under-sized players. Except for two errant passes I thought she did a very good job."
Three-point shooting setting the tone in the game:
"That and I think our patience on offense. The threes were a result of our patience and rading opportunities and situations, depending on how they were guarding us. That is a positive in a lot of ways."
On getting players more experience:
"We have to win the game No. 1. We have three very experienced starters and we will rotate three through the center position. Molly has a grip on the point guard position that she is going to hold until a freshman or two can come along and take of the ball the way she is taking care of the ball and make some timely shots the way she is making some timely shots. With time, that will start to evolve and I think our freshmen are going to help us.
"We got them in in blips today to see little incremental periods of time. I like
Mya Long today. I thought she played under control. She had a nice assist. Her tendency is to try to make things happen when it is not there, but she will grow."
