- Chattanooga lost a tight 70-66 final at Marshall…drop to 4-5, while Marshall improves to 6-3.
- Held the 10th-highest scoring team in the nation to more than 21 points below their average entering the contest (91.2).
- Limited the Herd to a meager 6.3 percent shooting from 3pt range making just 1 of 16 attempts…worst percentage since Tennessee shot the same number in last year's season-opening win in Knoxville…UT was also 1-16.
- Marshall is now 6-0 at home.
- 44 rebounds is second-most rebounds of the season behind 48 vs. Tennessee Wesleyan…+12 rebound margin is most this season against DI opposition…+21 in last two games.
- 12 offensive rebounds also most against a DI opponent…just third time with double digits on offensive glass…season-high 17 second chance points (4-Marshall).
- 86.5 percent conversion on defensive rebounding letting Marshall grab a mere five offensive rebounds…just eight for opponents the last two games (88.1%).
