CHATTANOOGA --- The Chattanooga Mocs softball team fell to Saint Louis, 5-2, on the final day of the annual Frost Classic hosted by UTC at Frost Stadium.

The loss drops the Mocs to 5-9 on the season. Chattanooga will head south for the next three weekends as they round out the non-conference tournament slate.

The first runs of the game came in the top of the second when SLU scored three runs by way of three hits and two Chattanooga errors to take an early 3-0 lead. The Mocs would respond with two runs in the bottom of the third when Alyssa Coppinger and Hayleigh Weissenbach both scored. Weissenbach doubled home Coppinger and came around to score when an SLU throwing error to second base allowed Weissenbach to come all the way around the bases, cutting the deficit to 3-2.

Saint Louis added a run in both the fifth and sixth innings on a wild pitch and solo homerun, respectively, and ultimately claimed a 5-2 victory over Chattanooga. The Mocs only recorded three hits in the loss.

Payten Price (3-7) took the loss in the circle as she went all 7.0 innings, allowing eight hits, five runs (three earned) while striking out four. Weissenbach (1-for-3), Coppinger (1-for-2) and Ashley Conner (1-for-3) recorded the three hits for Chattanooga as Weissenbach recorded the lone RBI.

- Ashley Conner entered the game on Sunday leading the SoCon with a .474 batting average ... is now hitting .463 (19-for-41) ... leads the team in hits (19), HRs (4), RBIs (12), total bases (34), slugging percentage (.829) and on-base percentage (.531).
- Hayleigh Weissenbach raised average to .252 (10-for-39) ... leads teams with 12 runs scored and ranked second entering Sunday in the SoCon ... best mark in conference amongst all freshmen.
- Payten Price lowered her ERA to 3.36 for the season and upped strikeout total to 40 ... sat second in SoCon entering Sunday in strikeouts, innings pitched and games started ... third in wins (3).
