The game was a pitchers dual and remained scoreless through three and a half innings before the Bucs scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth to take a 1-0 lead. They would add a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to extend out to a 3-0 advantage. Chattanooga got on the board in the top of the seventh when Lewis scored on a wild pitch with two outs, but the game later concluded after an outfield assist nabbed a UTC runner at second for the third out.

Maddy Adams (1-3) started the game and pitched 3.0 innings allowing six hits and only one run (unearned) and also struck out a batter. The run scored in the bottom of the fourth when Hudson took over for Adams with two runners on and a throwing error allowed a run to score. Hudson tossed the final 3.0 and allowed three hits, two runs (one earned) while striking out one.
The two (Weissenbach), three (Hamill) and four (Womack) hitters for UTC all went 1-for-4 with singles.
