Mocs Complete Regular Season this Week at Mercer

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team completes the regular season this week at The Brickyard Collegiate in Macon, Ga. It starts Monday with 36 holes and finishes with a final 18 on Tuesday.
A strong 15-team field awaits the Mocs quintet. Eleven of the squads are ranked in Golfstat's top 100 including two in the top 25.
It's also a good precursor to the upcoming Southern Conference Championships later this month. ETSU, Furman, UNCG and Samford join host Mercer this week.
The starting lineup is Monica San Juan, Cristina Perez, Holly Morgan, Megan Woods and Maria Pineiro. They lead off holes 11-13 in tomorrow's 8:30 a.m., shotgun start playing with UNCG and Troy.

- San Juan's 74.58 stroke average currently ranks fifth all-time at UTC. The best standard for a sophomore is Woods' 74.86 last year.
- San Juan, Perez and Morgan are tied for the team lead with six par or better cards. That's one out of the top 10 in school history behind Emma de Groot (2010-11) and Emily McLennan (2013-14) who are tied for 10th with seven.
- Perez (16), Woods (14) and San Juan (10) rank fifth, tied for seventh and 10th, respectively, in career par or better rounds.
- It's a tight race for the team's birdie lead. San Juan (55) is one ahead of Perez (54) with Morgan (50) and Pineiro (49) close behind.
