University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis head coach
Chuck Merzbacher announced the Mocs fall schedule today. UTC has three team events and one individual tournament this semester.
"I am excited about the way this sets up," stated Merzbacher. "We get the whole month of September to train and then the month of October to compete. It should give us a really good idea of where we are and what we need to work on heading into the spring."
UTC opens with the Mercer Invite in Macon, Ga., on Oct. 6-8, followed by the Louisville Invite on Oct. 13-15. Selected individuals will participate in the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Knoxville, Tenn., on Oct. 19-23. Fall action concludes at the Georgia Southern Championships in Statesboro, Ga., on Oct. 27-29.
Merzbacher is in his first season with the Mocs. He brings 28 years of NCAA Division I men's and women's head coaching experience to the UTC program. He most recently served as the head women's tennis coach at the University of Minnesota. He also was the head women's coach at Ohio State (1997-12) and Kansas (1993-96) and the men's head coach at Northern Illinois (1990-92).
