Chattanooga Football Postgame Quotes
Chattanooga at Western Carolina
Whitmire Stadium – Cullowhee, N.C.
Saturday – Oct. 13, 2018
Head Coach Tom Arth
Overall effort in today's win:
"It was really important for us to get back on track. To be able to come down here and play well and come away with a win, our team needed it. I thought our guys played really hard. We fought really hard in some situations.Â
"Defensively, they had driven the ball down to the goal line and we were able to come up with stops, repeatedly. That was a big-time difference in the game.
"The offense did a great job of protecting the ball. Being able to run the ball at the end of the game and close it out the way we did was really exciting and a big moment for our team."
On the play of the defense in the redzone:
"It was just a great effort across the board. We gave up some bad plays that allowed them to get down there. When they did, our guys just had a great attitude. Every time we had a chance to get them on the sideline in those situations, Pops (
Derek Mahaffey) is leading the way. Just saying, they are not getting anything, they are not getting in. We have to slam the door on them. And they did it.Â
"You have to give them a lot of credit. It is one thing to say it. It is another thing to go out there and do it."Â
On the play of the offense:
"I thought we ran it much better. Again, a little bit inconsistent. There were some times where it was tough and it didn't look pretty. I thought (OC) Justin (Rascati) did a really good job sticking with it and had some adjustments off of the run to really help the offensive line and take a little pressure off of them.Â
"I thought down the stretch, to be able to run it the way we did at the end of the game was really big."Â

Isaiah Mack, Sr-DL
On 10 red-zone stops in 2018, most since 2005:
"It takes a bond. We got this bond in fall camp when we to Chattanooga Christian School and practiced red-zone against our offense. Ever since then, it's just a mentality to not let them score…hold them to a field goal if anything. We did a good job of just controlling the game."

Nick Tiano, Jr-QB
On multiple TD games with three different receivers this season:
"We've got an extremely talented receiver room. We knew going into the season that the receiving corps was as good as anybody in the country. Those guys are constantly getting open, and I'm lucky to be able to get them the ball."
