Liz Wood was an unexpected addition to the team when she was accepted as a walk-on. She was a guard for the Henry County Patriots and won 66 games over three years. She helped the Patriots to a tie for first in her senior year. She captained her team and was named all-district.

"Well that was the number handed to me and me being a walk-on, I'll take any number they can give me. However, I choose number 11 because in middle school I was number 21 and high school I was number 10. I took one number from each in order to keep in mind the younger days of my career."
 
Coach Katie's take on Liz
"We added Liz this fall as a walk-on. She is a great kid and has been dedicated to our program, coming in most mornings to get extra time on the court, working on her game. She has been a good fit for our team and we are so happy to have her."
 
How would you describe Coach Katie?
"I have not known coach Katie long, but I have already seen many strong qualities in her. Ones such as ambitious, considerate and sincere. She comes in every day with a good attitude making her persistent and very reliable."
 
Favorite sports movie?
"Space Jam."
 
Favorite pre-game meal?
"Subway sandwich with turkey, spinach, tomato, mayo and toasted and a chocolate chip cookie.
 
Favorite late night snack?
"Cereal – really any time of the day."
 
Biggest pet peeve?
"When people are chewing gum and smack or chew with their mouth open."
 
Dream job?
"An astronaut. Hands down."
 
Where would you spend your dream vacation?
"Australia."

"Compassionate. Happy. Generous."

"Mac and cheese and sautéed veggies. Maybe a meat it I'm feeling up for it."
