The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 match at Wofford today. The Mocs scored two points in singles action, falling to 6-11 on the year and 1-3 in Southern Conference matches.
UTC was swept in doubles action, falling behind 1-0 going into singles. Wofford (9-4, 1-1 SoCon) closed out the match with wins at No. 3, No. 6 and No. 5 in straight sets.
UTC got on the board when sophomore
Simon Bustamante posted a three-set victory against Julian Chousa [2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7)] at No. 2. It was his fourth win at No. 2 as he improved to 5-7 in spring singles.
Freshman
Luke Plaisted closed out the match with a three-set win at No. 4. He defeated Parks Schoen [6-4, 6-7 (3), 1-0 (8)] to move to 6-9 in the spring.
Up next for the Mocs is a Wednesday trip to Alabama A&M. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) in Normal, Ala.
