OPELIKA, Ala---The Chattanooga Mocs shot 1-over par 289 today behind strong play from
Lake Johnson and
Luke Long. Johnson fired 3-under 69, while Long was one behind him with a 70.
Long carted seven birdies on the day with Johnson adding another five. Today's 289 was supported by
Will Porter (74) and
Etienne Brault (76). The Mocs are 12th overall at 591, one ahead of Kansas State (592) in 13th and a single stroke behind Troy in 11th. Just six shots separates UTC and No. 31 Missouri (585) in eighth.
Johnson is tied for eighth. His 3-under 141 total is a career best over 36 holes. Long is next with 147 followed by Porter (150), Braults (153) and
A.J. Lintunen (165).
No. 9 Auburn extended its lead with a 5-under 283 today to sit at 564. The Tigers are 14 ahead of the second-place duo of Maryland and Mississippi State. The Terps' David Kocher took over the individual lead at 8-under 136. The Tigers' Wells Padgett, playing as an individual, is second with 138.
