RESULTS
OPELIKA, Ala---The Chattanooga Mocs turned in even-par 288 in the final round Tiger Invitational to move up to 10th in the 17-team field. The Mocs shot 879 over the two-day, 54-hole event.
Etienne Brault led the quintet with a 2-under par 70 at the Grand National Lake Course.
Lake Johnson and
Will Porter added 72s with a 74 from
Luke Long for today's team total.
A.J. Lintunen had the drop score of 77.
The climb to 10th was steady after sitting in 14th after a slow start. One-over 577 over the final 36 holes was seventh-best in the strong field.
Johnson tied for 11th at 3 under. Long (221), Porter (222) and Brault (223) finished within two strokes of each other. That put the Mocs one shot clear of UNCG and UNCW with Southern Miss another shot back in 13th. Minnesota was two in front of UTC in ninth.
No. 9 Auburn easily won shooting 839. That was 25 better than runner-up Georgia State. Maryland's David Kocher was the medalist at 11-under 205.

- Johnson continued his strong run with his third career par or better 54-hole total… E for his last nine cards (72.00)…seven of his nine par or better cards this season came over that stretch.
- 879 is the second-best team total of 2017-18…two off top number of 877 at the Wolfpack Fall Invite.
- Porter;s 222 is a season best…Long's second round tally of 2-under 70 was his team-leading 10th par or better card.
NEXT UP
The Mocs tee off next Monday, March 12, at the Southern Intercollegiate. It's a one-day, 36-hole event hosted by Georgia at the Athens Country Club.
