Senior Maddy McDanel and the Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team is right back on the course this weekend at Louisville’s Cardinal Cup.

CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf completes a busy October slate this weekend at the Cardinal Cup. It's the sixth entry in Louisville's fall event featured at the UofL Golf Course in Simpsonville, Ky.

The month of October has been a whirlwind for the ladies with strong performances at the Princess Anne (3rd) and Magnolia (5th) Invitationals. That's nine rounds (162 holes) in 17 days with eight competition dates including this weekend.

How good a run is it? We'll provide a special "First 3 Notes to Know" to illustrate:

Streak of six straight rounds with at least one par or better card was snapped in the Magnolia Invite final 18. The team has 14 total – Esme Hamilton 6, Maddy McDanel 4, Rheagan Hall 2 & Dorota Zalewska 2 – this season, matching last year's total. The last time recording 15? 28 in 2016-17 led by seven each for Cristina Perez '17, Monica San Juan and Holly Morgan.
The squad recorded 10 or more birdies in 10 of 12 rounds so far. Thirty-one at Magnolia tied for second-most this season with Princess Anne Invite behind a total of 36 in the season-opening Mercedes-Benz Collegiate. They've topped 30 in three of four events this fall. There was one all last season.
The squad's 292.83 stroke average heading into the Cardinal Cup is more than 3.5 strokes better than the school-record 296.43 shot in 2015-16.

3 NOTES TO KNOW

This is the squad's sixth entry in the Cardinal Cup (2012-15, '18). The best team finish is third, oddly enough three times in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Top individual ending was Marion Duvernay's tie for fourth at 3-over 219. Team stroke average in 15 rounds at UofL Golf Course: 303.07.
Chattanooga registered a top 15 in each of the first four events with one top 5 and 2 top 10s: McDanel, T11, Mercedes-Benz Collegiate; Hamilton, T14, Mason Rudolph Championships; Hamilton, 3, Princess Anne Invite & Hamilton, T9, Magnolia Invite.
Hamilton registered her third straight top 15 and second collegiate top 10 tying for ninth earlier this week at the Magnolia Invitational. She's 1 under over that span averaging 71.22 strokes per 18 and a finish of 8.67.
