HEAD COACH ANDY MEYER
"Great way to start the indoor season. Our young kids ran well. Sage [Davis] ran strong against a very good field. Madelyn [Thompson] led wire-to-wire attacking the hurdles. Not many freshmen win their first college race. Jada negative split her mile for her first college win. Sophia [Neglia] weaved her way through the field to get second in the 800. Freshman sprinter McKenzie Williamson ran another strong race against a very tough field to place in the 200. Makenzie Jones, Lesley Green and Emily Poole all started at the back in the 3000 meter and wiht about 10 laps left, accelerated and ran to a dominating 1-2. Our 4x4 pulled out an unexpected with with Abby [Bateman] running a first lef that kept us close. Nicole [Buehrle] seized the lead in a very strong move. Freshman Faith Brown increased the lead and Julia Henderson anchored it home.
"Overall we had a great team effort as we were able to score in sprints, hurdles, mid distance and distance events. Our young runners gained experience and confidence and upper classmen performed as needed and exptected."
