ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
PALM CITY, Fla.---The Chattanooga Mocs turned in a 2-over par 290 over the second 18 at the UNCG Martin Downs Collegiate Monday at Martin Downs Golf Club. The 290 gives the squad a two-day total of 584 which is sixth overall, nine shots ahead of Boston College.
Sophomore
Oliver Simonsen led the day with a 3-under 69. He was 1 under through 16 holes before his third eagle of the season on No. 17 provided his final tally. He's tied for sixth at 1 under 143.
Sophomore
Connor Nolan was one off Simonsen's pace with a 2-under 70.
Dominic Jones and
Leon Bader rounded out the counting cards with 75 and 76, respectively.
Etienne Brault's 77 was the drop score.
Lake Johnson,
Moritz Lammel and
Will Porter are playing as individuals this week. Johnson carded a level-par 72, while Lammel and Porter both signed for 74.
The group got off to a pretty good start making the turn at 3 under. The score was 4 under through 13 before some struggles coming in. The Mocs counted three bogeys, two doubles and a triple over the final five holes to end up 2 over for the round.
Host UNCG has the lead at 566. Mercer is two behind with 568, while James Madison is third at 575. VCU's Kristian Tannum Donaldson has a three-shot lead atop the player leaderboard at 10 under.
Tuesday's final round is an 8:30 a.m., shotgun start. The Mocs are paired with Samford, Boston College and Fort Wayne with the quartet beginning on holes 4-8.

3 NOTES TO KNOW
- Oliver Simonsen's 69 is his seventh round in the 60s this season, 11th par or better…seven rounds in the 60s is tied for fifth-best in school history with Derek Rende (2009), Stephan Jaeger (2010) and Brooks Thomas (2017)…Jaeger, now in his second season on the PGA TOUR, holds the record with 13 in 2012.
- Connor Nolan's 70 marks his third par or better card of the season (11 rounds) which matches his total from 2017-18…Nolan and Moritz Lammel have 26 pars through 36 holes which is tied for the fifth-highest total in the tourney.
- 14th straight round with double digit birdies on the counting cards with 10 today…10 or more in 16 of 17 rounds with nine over the final 18 at the Carpet Capital Collegiate serving as the low mark.
