Kirsty Beckwith led the Chattanooga Mocs over the first 27 holes at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite shooting 1 over .

GREENSBORO, Ga.---Junior Kirsty Beckwith is off to a fantastic start at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational at the National Course. She is tied for third at 1-over par after 27 holes on the Ridge, Bluff and Cove nines.
That helped the Chattanooga Mocs into a tie for third with No. 6 Vanderbilt at the tourney's half-way point. The Mocs and Commodores are 14 over, four back of co-leaders Texas Tech and Mercer.
Beckwith shot level-par 72 over the first 18 before heading into Sunday 1 over through nine. She's tied with seven other golfers who are three off the pace set by Texas Tech's Sofia Garcia. Thao My Nguyan is second at even.
Chattanooga opened with a nine-under 297 which tied for fourth through 18 holes. Beckwith's 72 was supported by Rheagan Hall's 74, Maddy McDanel with 75 and Monica San Juan adding 76. Esme Hamilton had the drop tally with 80.
San Juan leads the way to the mid-point of round two at even par. Beckwith and McDanel are both 1 over, while Hamilton is three over. The 5 over group total made up five shots on first round co-leader Vanderbilt who was tied at 292 with Texas Tech.
The field tackles the final 27 holes with a 9 a.m., shotgun start Sunday morning. Links to today's results, live scoring and parings are above.

- Kirsty Beckwith's 72 in the first round is her first par or better round as a Moc, third of her collegiate career…she competed two seasons at St. John's (2016-17)…she had a win, six top 5s and eight top 10s for the Johnnies.
- Second career eagle for Maddy McDanel…last came in the opening 18 of the 2017 Mason Rudolph Championships.
- Rheagan Hall's starting 74 ties for her second-best round of the season…shot 72 in the final 18 at the Princess Anne Invite in October after her initial 74 in round two.
