ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
OPELIKA, Ala.---The Chattanooga Mocs saved their best for last at the Tiger Invitational presented by Jason Dufner. Chattanooga turned in a 2-under 286 to move up four spots on the leaderboard into a tie for eighth. It's ninth par or better 18 for the team this season.
The 890 total was matched by Western Kentucky and Georgia State. The Mocs made up six shots on the Hilltoppers and 13 on the Panthers. Seniors
Etienne Brault and
Lake Johnson led the charge today with matching 70s.
Connor Nolan added 72 with
Leon Bader chipping in 74.
Oliver Simonsen had the drop tally of 75.
Johnson paced the group for the week tying for 29th with 221. Simonsen and Brault were next at 223, one clear of Nolan's 224. Bader ended with 237.
No. 10 Auburn claimed the team title at 11 under. No. 6 SMU was a distant second at -1. The Tigers' Brandon Mancheno defeated Wyatt Larkin of Kennesaw State in a playoff for medalist honors. The duo finished at 4-under 212.
Chattanooga heads to the Sunshine State for its next outing. The group tackles the field at the USF Invitational on March 11-12 at Tampa Palms Golf Club in Tampa, Fla.

3 NOTES TO KNOW
- Etienne Brault's 2-under finish over the final 18 holes is this 24th career par or better score…tied season high of five birdies, the third time this season with five…final round average in the spring is 70.5.
- Lake Johnson also shot 70 for his 27th par or better card in his fourth season…ended up level on the par 4s this week…now averaging 4.19 on the middle-length holes this season which ranks second on the team behind Oliver Simonsen's 4.03.
- 41 birdies on the counting cards for the third straight event…40 or more in five of seven tourneys this season…paced by Simonsen's 14 and Connor Nolan with 12…Nolan has 33 over his last nine cards, 3.7 per 18.
