Mocs Fall at Florida Gulf Coast

Senior Annie Tarwater scores a singles win in UTC's team loss to the Eagles.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match at Florida Gulf Coast today.  The Mocs scored one singles win in their dual with the Eagles.

Senior Annie Tarwater, playing in the No. 6 position, defeated FGCU's Ariana Chan in three sets today.  It was Tarwater's first singles action in the spring.

Tarwater won the opening set 6-1, before dropping the next frame 6-4.  Since the team outcome was decided, they played a 10-point, super-tiebreaker to decide the match.  That frame also went to extra points with Tarwater winning 14-12.

Chattanooga falls to 7-4 with today's loss, while FGCU improved to 5-6 overall.  The Mocs are back in action tomorrow against Liberty in Fort Myers, Fla.  First serve against the Flames is set for 11:00 a.m.  Be sure to check back to GoMocs.com from complete results.
