CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team is right back on the course this weekend at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic. The group is coming off a strong performance in Mexico where they finished fourth beating four top 100 opponents including No. 37 Tennessee.

The Mocs look to build on it in Baton Rouge. It will come an even tougher field. Last time out there were eight teams ranked among Golfstat's top 100, including our favorite five. LSU has nine among the 11 competing at the University Club including two – No. 19 TCU and No. 25 Campbell – in the top 25.

This is the fifth straight outing for the current quintet of Monica San Juan, Maddy McDanel, Rheagan Hall, Esme Hamilton and Kirsty Beckwith. Their average of the previous 12 cards is 299.92 which is a more than two strokes better than the team's 302.00 over the initial 11 of the campaign.

San Juan is the reigning Southern Conference Player of the Week. She tied for ninth in Mexico, the eighth career top 10 for the Pamplona, Spain native. She led an impressive overall performance for the group with all five finishing among the top 40 individually.

The LSU Tiger Golf Classic is a three-day, 54-hole event. It begins Friday morning with play continuing Saturday and Sunday. Live scoring, pairings and notes are linked above.
