ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
PINEHURST---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team is fifth after 18 holes at the Southern Conference Championships. The Mocs made their way around Pinehurst National No. 9 at 296.
Oliver Simonsen and
Connor Nolan each carded 72 to pace the counting cards.
Lake Johnson added 74 as
Etienne Brault and
Will Porter both tallied 78. Simonsen and Nolan sit in the top 10 tied for ninth.
UNCG leads at 283 with the lowest opening 18 in six years at this venue. ETSU and Mercer are tied for second at 289 with Furman in fourth two ahead of the Mocs 296. Samford is sixth at 297 followed by Wofford (304) and Western Carolina (313). The Spartans Zack Swanson is the early leader with 4-under 68 ahead of a trio of 69s.
Chattanooga returns to the tee at 8:45 a.m., paired with Samford. Porter leads off followed by Brault (8:54), Johnson (9:03), Nolan (9:12) and Simonsen (9:21). Complete results, live scoring and pairings are linked above.

- Nolan had a team-high four birdies. 10th card this season with four or more on it.
- Simonsen now has 19 par or better 18s, fifth in a row. The 19 ranks fourth all-time for a season at Chattanooga behind Stephan Jaeger's 22 in 2012 and Jonathan Hodge (2008) and Wes Gosselin (2016) with 21 apiece.
- Johnson's 14 pars are tied for third-most in the event.
