CHATTANOOGA---It's back to the course for the Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team. Coach Colette Murray's squad starts play Monday at the Lady Red Wolves Classic in Jonesboro, Ark. The group tackles Sage Meadows Country Club for 36 holes before coming back Tuesday for a final 18.
This week's lineup is the same as in the opening event. Beatriz Barrios, Esme Hamilton, Dorota Zalewska, Rachel Thompson and Daphne van Son. Jefimija Dordevic is entered as an individual.
Barrios and Thompson are the first freshman duo to start the season with top 20s since the 2008 Chris Banister Gamecock Classic [Maria Salinas (9) & Maria Juliana Loza (T18)]. Barrios tied for 16th at the Hoover Invitational with Thompson close behind tied for 20th.
Monday's 36-hole day is a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m., Eastern time. The Mocs are paired with Troy and Western Kentucky with the groups beginning on holes 4-6. Dordevic opens on 18.
