Postgame Notes at Western Kentucky

Chattanooga Football Postgame Notes
Chattanooga at Western Kentucky
Houchens-Smith Stadium – Bowling Green, Ky.
Saturday – Oct. 24, 2020

TEAM
- The Mocs dropped a 13-10 contest at Western Kentucky tonight.

- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the only game for the Mocs in 2020.  The Southern Conference has posted an eight-game league schedule that beings on Feb. 20, 2021.  The FCS Playoffs are now a 16-team field that begins on April 24, 2021, with the championship game set for May 15 in Frisco, Texas.

- WKU took the lead on a four-yard TD pass from from Tyrrell Pigrome to JR Burt with 1:21 left … UTC senior Bryce Nunnelly took the ensuing kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown, but it was called back on an apparant "fair catch" call.  Officials took over two minutes of replay to confirm the disputed call on the field.

- The 13 points allowed are the fewest Chattanooga has given up to an FBS opponent since a 7-0 loss at Vanderbilt on Sept. 7, 1985.

- Mocs won the turnover battle 2-0 … they recovered a turnover in the red zone before the half and jumper on a punt that hit a returner in the third quarter.

- UTC was just 2-5 on fourth down, while WKU was 3-4.

- The Mocs made two stops in the red zone tonight.

- Mocs had 10 TFLs tonight … most since 10 at Samford on Sept. 19, 2015.
