- The Mocs dropped a 13-10 contest at Western Kentucky tonight.Â
- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is the only game for the Mocs in 2020. The Southern Conference has posted an eight-game league schedule that beings on Feb. 20, 2021. The FCS Playoffs are now a 16-team field that begins on April 24, 2021, with the championship game set for May 15 in Frisco, Texas.Â
- WKU took the lead on a four-yard TD pass from from Tyrrell Pigrome to JR Burt with 1:21 left … UTC senior
Bryce Nunnelly took the ensuing kickoff 102 yards for a touchdown, but it was called back on an apparant "fair catch" call. Â Officials took over two minutes of replay to confirm the disputed call on the field.Â
- The 13 points allowed are the fewest Chattanooga has given up to an FBS opponent since a 7-0 loss at Vanderbilt on Sept. 7, 1985.
- Mocs won the turnover battle 2-0 … they recovered a turnover in the red zone before the half and jumper on a punt that hit a returner in the third quarter. Â
- UTC was just 2-5 on fourth down, while WKU was 3-4.
- The Mocs made two stops in the red zone tonight.
- Mocs had 10 TFLs tonight … most since 10 at Samford on Sept. 19, 2015.Â
INDIVIDUAL
Drayton Arnold – Sr.-QB
- Led the Mocs on a 14-play, 75-yard scoring drive to open the season. He scored his first career TD with a 10-yard run on third down to give UTC a 3-0 lead.Â
- First career start.
- 9-23 passing for 90 yards.
- 14 carries for 27 yards and his first career score.
Ty Boeck – Jr.-LB
- Posted six tackles.
- Recovered a fumble in the red zone.
Rashun Freeman – Sr.-DB
- Tied a career-high with eight tackles.
- Career-high 3.0 TFLs. Â
Ailym Ford – So.-RB
- 92 yards on 25 carries.
- Just missed his 10
th career 100-yard rushing game.Â
Kam Jones – Jr.-LB
- Career-high and team-high nine tackles.Â
- Added a TFLs.
Bryce Nunnelly - Sr.-WR
- Three catches for 28 yards.
- 26-straight games with a catch … ties Faysal Shafaat (2011-14) for fourth-longest streak in school history.
- 146 career receptions … passes Terrell Owens (1992-95) @terrellowens and Jeremy (not Jimmy) Grier (2001-03) … tied with current New York Giant
C.J. Board (2013-16) for sixth all-time at UTC.
- 2,148 career receiving yards … passes UTC Athletics Hall of Famer Joe Burke (1977-80) for third all-time at UTC.
