SPARTANBURG, S.C.---Dorota Zalewska earned a share of medalist honors leading the Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team to a second-place finish at the Terrier Intercollegiate. The squad's final round 293 is its second-lowest 18 through three events.
 
Zalewska's 74 Tuesday gave her a 3-over total of 219 at Country Club of Spartanburg. That matched ETSU's Warda Amira Rawof for co-champion claims. It's the first collegiate win for the sophomore from Poland and on her birthday to boot.
 
All six Mocs who competed ended up in the top 20, a school record. Four – Zalewska (T1), Beatriz Barrios (5), Rachel Thompson (9) & Esme Hamilton (T10) – finished in the top 10. The last time the Mocs recorded four top 10s was winning the 2014 Southern Conference Championship (1-Emily McLennan, 3-Jordan Britt, T6-Isabella Loza & T10-Agathe Sauzon).
 
Zalewska's 219 total is her career low topping 224 turned in twice last year at the 2019 Mercedes-Benz and 2020 UNF Collegiates. Her previous best finish was a tie for 24th at the 2020 Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational. It is the 18th individual win for a Chattanooga golfer and first since assistant coach Monica San Juan captured the 2019 SoCon title. Zalewska is the 10th different Moc to claim a win.
 
Today's 293 was paced by freshman Daphne van Son. Her level-par 72 was followed by Hamilton's 72, while Zalewska, Barrios and Thompson all shot 74s. Freshman Jefimija Dordevic posted a 1-over 73 playing as an individual.
 
ETSU won the team event ahead of the Mocs. Host Wofford was a distant third at 919. Chattanooga completes fall play in two weeks at the Mercer Invitational Nov. 9-10.
