STATS/NOTES | SCORING | ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
CHATTANOOGA---The fourth and final fall event starts Monday for the Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team. It begins with 36 holes at the Brickyard Golf Club before a final 18 Tuesday.
The Mocs look to continue moving forward after a second-place ending at the Terrier Intercollegiate two weeks ago. Sophomore Dorota Zalewska earned her first individual win sharing medalist honors at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
She is joined in the lineup by freshmen Beatriz Barrios and Daphne van Son along with sophomores Esme Hamilton and Rachel Thompson. Freshman Jefimija Dordevic slots in as an individual.
Barrios has a top 5 & three top 20s in her first three career outings. The last time a freshman opened her career in that manner? Emma de Groot '11 and Christine Wolf '11 in 2007-08. Wolf, who currently stars on the Ladies European Tour, began T5, T13 and T11, while de Groot was runner-up in her first three and top 10 in nine straight while winning twice. She finished in the top 20 in 10 of 11 that first season including tying for 17th at the NCAA East Regionals.
Zalewska's win was the 18th in program history, and the first since assistant coach Monica San Juan '19 at the 2019 Southern Conference Championships. She's the 10th different Moc to claim a win. Hamilton enters this week with back-to-back top 10s (T6-Lady Red Wolves Cl. & T10-Terrier Int.).
Monday's shotgun start is at 8 a.m., with two groups of Mocs opening on holes three and four. Each squad plays together like the last time out at the Terrier. Links to stats/notes and live scoring are above.
