The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis team finished play at MTSU's Dale Short Shootout today. The Mocs scored a win in doubles and three in singles action.
"This was a very physical weekend with really each one of these teams contending for their respective conferences," stated UTC head coach
Chuck Merzbacher. "The competition was tough and we held up and got some very good wins in doubles and singles.

Turner Voges had the doubles win. They defeated Troy's Andy Romero and Nicolas Rodriguez (6-1).
Singles wins came from sophomore

Peyton Gatti and
Jeffrey Dewald. Gatti beat MTSU's Andreas Kramer (6-3, 6-4). Hyatt posted a (6-3, 6-4) win over Troy's Joaquin Bianchi, while Dewald beat the Trojans' Andy Romero (6-4, 6-4).
"I am proud of these guys," added Merzbacher. "After seven months off, they were tough throughout the weekend. We were so glad we had this opportunity to play!"
The Mocs turn right back around and head back to MTSU next weekend. This time it is for the Buck Bouldin Battle of the Boro on Oct. 9-11.
