CHATTANOOGA (May 27, 2026) – With transfer portal season in full swing, the Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis program has added Cleveland State (NCAA Division I) transfer and France native Maxime Aremon to next season's 2026-27 roster, head coach
Chuck Merzbacher announced Wednesday afternoon.
An incoming junior, Aremon joins the Chattanooga program following a successful two seasons at Cleveland State (Horizon League) to open his collegiate career. Aremon, a Nointel, France native, contributed greatly to both the Vikings singles and doubles lineups over his two campaigns and peaked as high as No. 84 in the ITA Division I National doubles rankings (November 2025).
"We are excited to have Max join our program for the upcoming season. He is a strong and athletic lefty that has the experience playing high-level Division I singles and doubles," said coach Merzbacher after the signing.
"His addition will fortify both of our doubles and singles lineups as we add him to a strong group of returners."
Aremon wrapped up his 2025-26 sophomore campaign with a 16-15 (3-3 Horizon League) overall record in singles, combining for seven victories between the No. 2 through No. 4 slots during dual action. He finished the season with a healthy 17-9 (2-2 Horizon League) record in doubles play, featuring a 10-7 mark in duals (3-1 at No. 1; 7-6 at No. 2) and a 3-0 record in tournament action.
During his freshman season in 2024-25, Aremon accumulated a strong 20-13 overall singles record which was highlighted by a perfect 6-0 record in Horizon League matches. The rookie season for Aremon also featured a late season eight-match win streak in singles, a singles victory in the league tournament semifinals, and 15 total victories in doubles action.
Over his two seasons with the Vikings, Aremon helped the program amass a 27-23 overall record including an impressive 12-2 mark in Horizon League matches. CSU went a perfect 8-0 in the Horizon League during the 2024-25 season.
