TEAM
- The Mocs improved to 5-0 for the first time since the 1987-88 season with a 77-68 win over Bellarmine … The Knights dropped to 1-2.    

- 2-0 all-time vs. Bellarmine … previous matchup was a 74-70 UTC win in Louisville on Feb. 5, 1976. 

- Tonight was Bellarmine's first home game as a member of the NCAA Division I.

- This was UTC's 800th win as a Division I program.

- Mocs were 17-36 (47.2%) from three … 10-21 in the first half … ties school record for threes in a game … last time was 17 made against Samford on 1/11/2020 … Knights were 3-11 (27.3%) from behind the arc.

- A.J. Caldwell and Jamaal Walker were both 5-8 from three tonight … last with five threes was Matt Ryan with seven at The Citadel last season.   

- UTC had a season-high 19 assists on 25 made baskets. 

- Bellarmine led 51-48 with 12:27 after a Dylan Penn jumper … Mocs used a 12-2 run over the next five minutes to take control of the game. 

- Mocs did not take a FT in the first half … 10-11 in the second half … Trey Doomes and Malachi Smith were both 4-4 from the charity stripe.

- UTC won the battle on the boards 33-27 ... Bellarmine outscored UTC 40-12 in the paint. 

INDIVIDUAL
A.J. Caldwell – Jr.-G
- Season-high 15 points.
- Shot 5-9 from the field, 5-8 from three.
- Most threes in a game.
- 11th career game in double-figures … first this season.
- Tied a career-high for the second time this season with eight boards.
- Added two assists.

David Jean-Baptiste – Sr.-G
- 14 points on 5-10 shooting and 4-4 from three.
- 1,015 career points passes Greg Andrews' (1968-71) and Ashley Champion (2003-04) for 32nd on UTC's career scoring list.
- 153 career 3-pt. FGs … 12th Moc to exceed the 150-mark … made at least one in 73 of his 102 appearances.
- Fouled out for the first time in his career. 
- Season-high five assists.
- Added three board and two steals. 

Malachi Smith – So.-G
- Double-double with a team-high 18 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
- Four double-doubles in his first five games … first Moc of the DI era (since 1977-78) to do that.
- Tied for game-high with six assists … second game with five or more.
- Led the team in rebounds all five games.

Jamaal Walker – Fr.-F
- 15 points on 5-8 shooting from three.
- Last time a freshman hit five threes was Kevin Easley at Western Carolina on Jan. 3, 2019.
- Came into the game with 18 points on the year.
- Added three assists and two boards.
