TEAM
- The Chattanooga Mocs scored an 86-67 win over VMI in McKenzie Arena tonight.  UTC improves to 16-10 overall and 7-6 in SoCon action.  VMI falls to 7-19 and 2-11 in league play.

- Mercer (13-13, 7-6) won at Wofford (16-10, 8-5) and UNCG (20-6, 10-3) won at Western Carolina (15-9, 7-6) … one game separates spots 4-7 in the SoCon race … Mocs are tied for fifth with Western Carolina and Mercer. 

- 45-14 in the all-time series … 23-4 at home … 8-3 since VMI rejoined the SoCon in 2014-15. 

- Turnovers were just 12-11 in favor of the Mocs … UTC took better advantage of VMI's miscues, outscoring the Keydets 14-5 in points off turnovers.   

- UTC outrebounded VMI 39-25 … +14 ties for the best rebound margin in a SoCon game with the 45-31 advantage against The Citadel on Jan. 22.

- Mocs were 23-24 (95.8%) from the FT line … season-high for makes … most in a SoCon game since 29 against UNCG on Jan. 29, 2018 …  fourth best showing from the line in school history … highest percentage since 28-29 at Northern Kentucky on Dec. 15, 2013. 

- VMI was 11-29 (37.9%) from three … most threes allowed by UTC this season … most allowed since 11 vs. Wofford on Feb. 28, 2019.

- Stefan Kenic was 8-8 from the FT line tonight … third time this season a Moc has hit at least eight FTs without a miss … other two were Matt Ryan 9-9 at Stanford (Jan. 29) and 8-8 at Wofford (Feb. 8). 

- 19-point loss was VMI's largest margin of defeat on the year.

INDIVIDUAL
Trey Doomes – So.-G
- Five boards in just eight rebounds off the bench. 
- Added two points and an assist.

David Jean-Baptiste – Jr.-G
- 11 points on 4-7 shooting, 3-3 from three.
- Game-high seven boards.
- Fourth time this season leading the team in rebounding. 
- Best percentage from three this season.
- Team-high four assists.

Stefan Kenic – Jr.-F
- 10 points in 15 minutes off the bench.
- 1-3 from the field and 8-8 from the FT line.
- Career-high for FTs made.
- Most FTs made in his career without a miss.
- Made 16 of his last 17 FTs over the last five games. 
- Seventh game in double-figures.

Matt Ryan – Sr.-G/F
- 17 points on 7-12 shooting, 2-7 from three and 1-1 from the FT line.
- Added three boards and three assists.
- 14-22 (63.6%) from the field last two games.
- 28-straight FTs is third-longest streak in school history.

Ramon Vila – Jr.-F
- Game-high 23 points.
- Second time with 20+ points in his career.
- Shot 9-10 from the field … 5-6 from the FT line.
- Started the game 9-9 from the field.
- 9-9 would have been third-most makes without a miss in school history. 
- Topped 300 points for his UTC career … 321.
- Tied a career-high with two steals.
