Brooke Sudduth picked up the victory in the circle during her collegiate debut while senior
Celie Hudson earned her first save of the season in a 2-1 win over Merrimack on Wednesday afternoon inside the Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex in Clearwater, Fla.
Chattanooga snaps a three-game skid and improves to 7-14. Merrimack drops to 2-10 overall in its first season as an NCAA DI program.
Sudduth earned the start and tossed 4.0 innings, allowing only four hits and one earned run while striking out two and walking none. Hudson entered in relief and fired the final 3.0 innings, surrendering only two hits while striking out four to record her first save of the season and third of her career.
Chattanooga's top five hitters in the lineup all recorded a hit apiece with
Reagan Armour providing the difference in the run column, driving in a pair of runs on a knock to center in the top of the first inning.
Emily Coltharp and
Hayleigh Weissenbach each ripped doubles in Wednesday's victory.

· Chattanooga snaps a three-game losing skid following Wednesday's win and improves to the season mark to 7-14 overall. UTC won just its second, one-run game this season to move its mark in such games to 2-7. It also snaps six-straight one-run game losses.

Brooke Sudduth made her collegiate debut in the circle, picking up the win as the starter to go 1-0 this season. Sudduth tossed 4.0 innings, allowing just four hits (all singles) and one earned run while striking out two and walking none.

Celie Hudson picked up her third career save after relieving Sudduth with 3.0 innings of scoreless work, surrendering only two hits while striking out four. Hudson has allowed only three earned runs over her last 18.1 innings of work and carries a SoCon-best 1.92 ERA.

Emily Coltharp went 1-for-3 with a double and has now registered a hit in seven of her last eight games. She went hitless in just three games this entire season. On the year, Coltharp leads the SoCon in batting average (.417) and on-base percentage (.526).

Reagan Armour went 1-for-3 and recorded two, eventual game-winning RBI in the first inning behind a two-run single. Armour is now on a three-game hit streak and is a combined 4-for-10 with three RBI during that span. Â
