Women’s Golf Ranks Among Nation’s Top Academic Programs

Colette Murray’s Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf programs continue to shine in the classroom.
ABOUT CHATTANOOGA GOLF
CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs women's golf team was honored by the Women's Golf Coaches Association for its prowess in the classroom. Earlier this month, the WGCA announced its All-American Scholars as noted here. This week, the All-Scholar Team was released.
The Mocs 2019-20 team grade point average of 3.811 led the Southern Conference and tied for 22nd nationally with the University of Delaware. New Mexico led the was at 3.965 followed closely by Green Bay (3.958) and Cal Baptist (3.950).
"The work our ladies do in all phases is impressive," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Mark Wharton shared. "We're very proud all our programs academic records as a whole which continue to improve and grow led by teams like women's golf who excel year-in, year-out.
"Congratulations to Coach Murray and her team especially noting All-American Scholars Kirsty Beckwith and Esme Hamilton."
Hamilton not only turned in a school-record average of 73.33, but she also recorded yet another 4.0 semester. Her perfect academic mark since entering Chattanooga in Fall 2018 comes in the field of Environmental Studies.
Beckwith graduated as a 4-time All-American Scholar.
It was an absolutely dominating performance. All eight Mocs on the roster earned Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Dean's List and Academic All-SoCon mention.
