GENERAL
- Chattanooga Mocs claimed a hard-fought 21-16 triumph over No. 10 ETSU in the Southern Conference Saturday afternoon...UTC is 3-3, 2-1 in the league…the Bucs are 6-1 overall, 3-1 in the SoCon.
- The victory kept the Bucs from their first 7-0 start in school history.
- Cumulative score over last four meetings: 61-49 UTC...33-14 advantage to ETSU in first half, 47-16 Mocs in the second.
- Fourth straight meeting where the first team to score a touchdown won the contest.
- There were five turnovers in the contest with two for the Mocs and three forced on the Bucs…entered the game with 11 combined on the season – Chattanooga (6) & ETSU (5).
- Win keeps "the Rail" in Chattanooga for a third straight year…the Rail is the trophy created in 2018 to award the winning team in "The Rivalry"…the Bucs won the inaugural Rail game in 2018, and it has since lived a lavish lifestyle in McKenzie Arena since 2019.
- Last top 10 win for the Mocs? 23-21 at No. 8 Samford on Oct. 28, 2017…Victor Ulmo hit a 39-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining for the win.

- Five sacks for the Mocs defense is one more than the Bucs allowed in their prior six combined…Mocs entered as SoCon leader averaging 3.0 per game.
- 13 of the 15 SoCon games under Rusty Wright have topped the 200-yard mark.
- 235 yards on the ground…14 of 22 games under Wright has had at least one 100-yard rusher.
- 82 yards passing…fewest yards passing in a win since Nov. 5, 2011 with 74…the Mocs won 24-9 with the duo of Graham Nichols and Terrell Robinson sharing snaps with WR/Holder extraordinaire Sloan Allison '11 who expertly ran the wildcat offensive set.
- 1,096 rushing yards over last five games (219.2 per game).
- Nine tackles for loss including the five sacks…six or more in 10 of the last 13 games.
- Entered the contest with a SoCon-leading 99.4 yards per game against the rush…ETSU totaled 160 on 37 carries…that was 85 below its 245.0 average before kickoff.
- Just missed back-to-back weeks with two 100-yard rushers with Tyrell Price (98) and Ailym Ford (95) combining for 193...Price (122)/ Ford (118) combined for 240 at VMI last week...the last time going back-to-back with twin benjamins? Oct. 31-Nov. 7...Jacob Huesman (168)/Derrick Craine (103) vs Western Carolina and Huesman (112)/Craine (102) at Mercer.
 
INDIVIDUAL
- School-record 4.5 sacks for Devonnsha Maxwell…one better than the 3.5 he got at North Alabama on Sept. 11…shared the prior mark with Davis Tull (2013) and Tyler Unzicker (2001)…he averaged a sack every 6.8 pass plays…all five sacks had his hands on the QB sharing one with Quay Wiggles who also shared his record-tying half-sack at UNA.
- Maxwell is third all-time in sacks at UTC passing Joshua Williams '12 who had 23…Maxwell now has 27, four behind second-place Keionta Davis '16 with 31 to go with his Super Bowl….38.5 tackles for loss is also third breaking a tie with Troy Boeck '90 (34.0) and passing Kenny Sanders '98 (36.0).
- Ailym Ford is 240 shy of 2,000 career yards after 93 today (1,760)...Eldra Buckley '06 reached 2,000 in his 18th game...Ford just finished game 17.
- 3rd straight game for Ford with a TD run of 49 or longer...54 vs Western Carolina, 65 at VMI and 49 today...UTC as a team has seven of 30 or more yards over that span with three by Tyrell Price (59, 57, 33) and one for Gino Appleberry (35).
- Price's 98 yards put him over the 1,400-mark with 1,408 for his career with 19 touchdowns, 20 total including on receiving…one rushing TD out of the top 10 with the quartet of James Roberts '93, Robert Smith '70, Kenneth Strong '30 and Clarence Lautzenheiser '29 with 20.
- Back-to-back double digit tackle effort for LB Ty Boeck recording 10…last time a Moc did that was Nov. 2-9, 2019, also Ty Boeck vs Furman (13) and at Samford (10)…he made a career-high 16 stops last weekend at VMI…he's also the last with three straight: Sept. 21-Oct. 5, 2019 vs James Madison (10), Western Carolina (15) and at Mercer (12).
- Career interception No. 5 for Jerrell Lawson…it was the third of the campaign, his top number in a season…the squad now has 10.
- Monster game for Jay Person with seven tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception on a PAT attempt he nearly returned for two points if not for a nice play by QB Tyler Riddell.
