- Chattanooga Mocs claimed a hard-fought 21-16 triumph over No. 10 ETSU in the Southern Conference Saturday afternoon...UTC is 3-3, 2-1 in the league…the Bucs are 6-1 overall, 3-1 in the SoCon.
- The victory kept the Bucs from their first 7-0 start in school history.
- Cumulative score over last four meetings: 61-49 UTC...33-14 advantage to ETSU in first half, 47-16 Mocs in the second.
- Fourth straight meeting where the first team to score a touchdown won the contest.
- There were five turnovers in the contest with two for the Mocs and three forced on the Bucs…entered the game with 11 combined on the season – Chattanooga (6) & ETSU (5).
- Win keeps "the Rail" in Chattanooga for a third straight year…the Rail is the trophy created in 2018 to award the winning team in "The Rivalry"…the Bucs won the inaugural Rail game in 2018, and it has since lived a lavish lifestyle in McKenzie Arena since 2019.
- Last top 10 win for the Mocs? 23-21 at No. 8 Samford on Oct. 28, 2017…Victor Ulmo hit a 39-yard field goal with 19 seconds remaining for the win.

Devonnsha Maxwell…one better than the 3.5 he got at North Alabama on Sept. 11…shared the prior mark with Davis Tull (2013) and Tyler Unzicker (2001)…he averaged a sack every 6.8 pass plays…all five sacks had his hands on the QB sharing one with
Quay Wiggles who also shared his record-tying half-sack at UNA.
- Maxwell is third all-time in sacks at UTC passing Joshua Williams '12 who had 23…Maxwell now has 27, four behind second-place Keionta Davis '16 with 31 to go with his Super Bowl….38.5 tackles for loss is also third breaking a tie with Troy Boeck '90 (34.0) and passing Kenny Sanders '98 (36.0).

Ailym Ford is 240 shy of 2,000 career yards after 93 today (1,760)...Eldra Buckley '06 reached 2,000 in his 18th game...Ford just finished game 17.

- Monster game for
Jay Person with seven tackles, two fumble recoveries and an interception on a PAT attempt he nearly returned for two points if not for a nice play by QB Tyler Riddell.
