The Paladins tied the set at 21, but the hosts won three of the final four points to take the frame, 25-22. Gylian Finch slotted back-to-back kills for the Mocs' final two points of the set. She hit .417 with five kills in the second, which led all players.

After the Mocs took a 7-6 lead, they never looked back. UTC held a seven-point advantage as Furman called its last timeout of the match. The Mocs took the 20-13 lead and won five of the next nine points as they took the match on the 11th kill of the night from Maia Rackel. The team hit .316 once again in the third set and held Furman to a .100 clip. Kate Neill posted five kills in the final frame, hitting nearly .500.

Notes

  • Finch hit above .300 for the second time this season. Her .360 attack clip is the best since she hit .407 last season vs. UNCG on Feb. 1. It's the first match in the senior's four-year career without an attack error.
  • Gallentine has recorded double-digit digs in every match this season.
  • This was the 15th match this season Rackel finished with 10+ kills.
  • The .299 hitting percentage is the highest for the Blue and Gold in SoCon play since Oct. 7, 2017 when the team hit .320 against Mercer.
  • UTC secured its first season series sweep over Furman since 2016 and the second since Head Coach Travis Filar took over. Filar graduated from Furman in 2000.
  • This is the first time UTC's opponent has hit under .100 all season and the first since Furman hit .049 against the Mocs on Feb. 22, 2021.
  • This was the second time this season the Mocs won the first two sets of the match. It marked the first sweep in SoCon action for the Blue and Gold.

Series history
Furman leads the all-time series 48-27 while the Mocs have won three straight.
