GENERAL
- The 19th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs dropped a 10-6 decision at Mercer Saturday afternoon in Southern Conference play...UTC is 6-4, 5-2 in the league…the Bears are 7-2 overall, 6-1 in the SoCon.
- Chattanooga entered today ranked 19th in the AFCA Coaches Poll and tied for 22nd in the Stat Perform Top 25…Mercer was among others receiving votes in both.
- The Mocs slip into a tie for third with VMI in the SoCon standings at 5-2…Mercer and ETSU play for the championship next week in Johnson City.
- Chattanooga's 4-game win streak is snapped as well as modest two in a row on the road.
- 3-3 on the road in 2021…first .500 or better road mark since 3-3 in 2016.
- Mercer's score with 4:20 left in the second quarter is the first offensive TD in 11 quarters allowed by the Mocs…it was a span of 164:20 which is the second-longest in the program's DI history (since 1977)…the record of 171:51 was set starting the 2015 campaign with shutout wins over Shorter (66-0) and Presbyterian (34-0) before allowing their first TD in the fourth quarter of the 21-14 win over Furman in week three.
- Just 52 points allowed over last five games (10.4 ppg)…SoCon opponents average 13.3 points per contest against the Mocs defense.

- The five games with 200 or fewer marks just the third time in the DI era with five or more in a season: 1982 (6) and 2014 (5).
- Just 656 yards allowed over the last four weeks (164.0/gm).
- Mercer came into the contest with the seventh-best rushing attack in the country at 234.4 yards per game…42 carries for just 56 yards today…1.3 yards per rush…4th time holding opponents to less than 100 yards on the ground: at North Alabama (38), Western Carolina (46) & at Samford (69).
- 107 yards passing allowed…just 294 yards passing given up over the last four games (73.5 ypg).
- 114 rushing yards is the second fewest of the season behind 99 against Austin Peay in the opener.
- Seven tackles for loss…six or more in 14 of last 17 games.
- Five turnovers (2 INT/3 Fumbles)…just the fourth multi-TO game by the Mocs this season with three vs Austin Peay and two each in wins at North Alabama and against ETSU…-4 in turnover margin after coming into the game second in the nation in the stat (+10).
- There were six total turnovers between the two teams but zero points off TOs for the game.

Ty Boeck's 85-yard interception ties for the fourth longest in school history with D.J. Key (Western Carolina-Oct. 15, 2011)…longest return WITHOUT scoring…collected seven tackles.
- Just the offense's second, third and fourth fumbles lost this season…first fumbles lost for
Tyrell Price,
Ailym Ford and
Cole Copeland.
- Ford's 57 yards on 14 carries gets him within nine yards of his second career 100-yard season…scored his ninth TD of the season, 17th career…2,164 career yards which is 120 yards shy of the top 10 (Mike Smith-2,284).
- Price's 47 yards moves him to 1,665 for his career…also caught three passes for 36 yards tying a season high for receptions.

Kam Jones registered 10 tackles including one for loss…second double-digit game of the season.

Ben Brewton had a career-best 1.5 sacks…now with 6.0 for the season and 7.0 for career.
