CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's soccer team will hit the pitch after more than a year without competition. UTC will host North Alabama at 4:00 p.m. at the UTC Sports Complex Soccer Field.
"We are excited to play," Chattanooga head coach
Gavin McKinney said. "It's been over a year since out last match. The squad has worked extremely hard to prepare and we hop to put in a good performance."
Friday's game is the only non-conference matchup for the Mocs who open Southern Conference play next Friday against Samford at home.
Keepers
Ashton Shields and
Abbey Saddler return in net for Chattanooga this season and will be joined by freshman
Sydney Weinstein.
Also returning this season are seniors
Chloe Arnold,
Lauren Dluzewski,
Osa Iyare,
Maddie Burman and
Emily Szymanski.
Junior captain
Maggie Shaw was selected to the SoCon coaches preseason all-conference team. Joining her on the pitch are fellow juniors
Samantha Shaw,
Adryan Darnell and
Shelby Hash. The Mocs have nine sophomores and three freshmen rounding out the roster.
No fans are allowed to attend the Mocs' home games at this time. Only player family/guests will be admitted.
Spectators
- Only player pass guests will be allowed to attend
- Due to reduced capacity at the venue only two (2) visiting complimentary tickets will be provided per student-athlete. Visiting teams should provide their team's player pass list to the game administrator prior to gates opening, which is one (1) hour before the start of the match.
- Cloth face masks are required to be worn by each spectator, ages 2 and above, at all times
- Fans are encouraged to remain with the group (10 or less) that they arrive to the complex with throughout their visit, and to practice social distancing of 6' of those outside their group, whenever possible
- Minors must have direct parental supervision and are encouraged to follow social distancing guidelines while visiting the venue
- Seating i. Bleachers will be unavailable for use throughout the season ii. Fans are encouraged to bring their own chair and/or blanket to utilize for seating
