Women’s Golf Moves to 3rd in New Orleans

Esme Hamilton tied for the Chattanooga Mocs low round two card at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.

NEW ORLEANS---The Chattanooga Mocs moved a spot up the leaderboard into third at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate. The second round 304 at English Turn Golf & Country Club slid the Mocs passed Rutgers with 607 through 36 holes.
 
The 304 as led by the duo of Esme Hamilton and Beatriz Barrios. They each turned in 75s with the counting cards adding 77s from Daphne van Son and Rachel Thompson. Dorota Zalewska's 81 was the drop score as individual Jefimija Dordevic tallied 79.
 
Barrios is third overall with a 3-over par 147. That puts her two behind the leading pair of Kate Smith (Nebraska) and Marine Griffaut at 145. Van Son is tied for 13th just two strokes out of the top 10 with 152.
 
Texas State leads at 594 jumping Nebraska which sits in second with 596. The Mocs are third, four clear of Rutgers in fourth and eight ahead of host Tulane and ULM.
