North Alabama – Sept. 11 – Braly Stadium
Postgame Notes

GENERAL
- The 24th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs captured a 20-0 win at North Alabama Saturday night at Braly Stadium...,UTC is now 1-1, while the Lions move to 0-2.
- Third straight road triumph…won at No. 11 Furman and The Citadel in the spring…last loss was 13-10 at Western Kentucky on Oct. 24, 2020.
- Last shutout was a 34-0 victory over Presbyterian on Sept. 10, 2016...opened the season with back-to-back shutouts besting Shorter 66-0 the week before.
- Last road shutout was Sept. 26, 2015 at Presbyterian (21-0)…evidently don't like to let them score.
- First time in 113 games UNA was shutout…streak dates back to 2010 season.
- 90 yards total offense allowed are the fewest allowed against an opponent since 16 by Shorter on Sept. 1, 2016…fewest given up to a DI opponent AND on the road since 68 at VMI on Nov. 21, 1987.
- 38 yards given up on the ground are the fewest since 29 at Mercer on Oct.  5, 2019…fourth time in the Rusty Wright Era with 50 or fewer yards rushing allowed with all four games coming on the road…long may he reign.
- 52 yards passing allowed are the fewest since The Citadel in the spring with 27 on March 6…it's the least passing yards allowed against a team that tries to throw the ball since 51 by ETSU (on the road) on Oct. 1, 2016.

TEAM
- Nine tackles for loss tonight…six or more TFLs in eight of last nine contests.
- Six sacks are the most since Oct. 27, 2018 recording seven in home win over VMI.
- 12 of the 19 games under Rusty Wright had a Mocs back to top the century mark with 14 total instances (more below).
- 194 yards on the ground and 292 yards gained in total for the offense…ran 67 plays to just 46 for the Lions.
- 10 first downs allowed are the lowest total since seven vs Mercer (11/10/18).
- First time since 1985 against Fort Valley State that the Lions gained fewer than 100 yards total offense although they claimed a 14-7 win that day with just 64 yards of total offense…the 14 points came on a blocked punt recovered in the end zone and an interception returned to the 1 punching it in on fourth down.

INDIVIDUAL
- Devonnsha Maxwell's three sacks in four fourth quarter plays gave him a new career high for quarterback mauling…the second gave him 100 career tackles…tied school record with 3.5 in the game [Davis Tull vs. Furman (10/12/13) & Tyler Unzicker at ETSU (11/10/01)]…also marked his eighth multi-sack contest…21.0 career sacks is fourth all-time at UTC trailing third-place Josh Williams (2009-12) by 2.5…one of just four with 20+ sacks for a career.
- Brandon Dowdell's second quarter interception was the ninth of his career…he's tied for 13th all-time with former head coach Russ Huesman (1978-81), current secondary coach Jordan Tippit (2008-11) and Quintez Smith (2003, '05-06) who was smart enough to stay out of coaching…he's halfway (3) to the top 10 in season picks with six gaining entry on that list.
- Ailym Ford eclipsed the 1,300-yard mark in the second quarter…111 yards on 22 carries tonight…7th 100-game of his career, first of 2021…scored his second TD of the season, 11th career in the second quarter.
- Jerrell Lawson's 38-yard pick 6 in the second quarter was his third career interception and second pick 6…took it home from 26 yards in the season opening win over Tennessee Tech in 2018.
- Tyrell Price's first carry put him over 1,000 yards for his career…ran 14 times for 68 yards giving him 1,065 at UTC.
