BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Chattanooga Mocs volleyball team dropped its second-straight 3-0 (25-23, 25-11, 25-21) decision on the road this weekend after falling to SoCon foe Samford in Birmingham, Alabama on Saturday evening.

Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 7-11 overall and 2-2 in SoCon play. Samford improves to 8-8 overall and 3-1 in the league after the victory. Entering the match, UTC was in search of their first win in Birmingham since 2010.

After falling behind 20-13 in the first, Chattanooga rallied to cut the deficit to 24-23 before eventually dropping a 25-23 decision. Samford controlled much of the last two sets, claiming a lobsided 25-11 win in the second and a 25-21 win in the third to complete the 3-0 sweep.

Natalie Tyson once again led the Mocs in the kill column with a team-high eight at a .167 clip while
Coniah Davis followed with seven at a .500 percentage, the second most kills for her this season.
Aleya Kennedy finished with six, also at a .500 tally, while
Halle Olson finished with five kills while hitting .364.

Elaine Redman controlled the offense with 24 assists and finished the match with five digs and a kill.
Paige Gallentine led the defensive efforts with a team-high 13 digs while ending with three assists and a service ace. Davis, Kennedy,
Chloe Bryan and
Sydney Hall all finished with 2.0 total blocks to help aid the defense.
