Head Coach Rusty Wright
Opening statement:
"We didn't play well enough to win."

On what was the difference in the game:
"They made plays and we didn't. That was it.  They made the plays and we didn't.  There is no mystery.  They made the plays when it mattered and we didn't."

On having all of the goals still in front of you for the rest of the season:
"We will be fine.  I expect the same group that showed up today on Monday this past week for work has to show up on this Monday for work.  It is just how it is and the way it is going to be."

On playing the game without your leading rusher and not being able to get the running game going:
"They had a lot to do with that.  That is the thing.  I thought we did what we had to do to move the football, but they had a lot to do with that."

Ty Arnett – Sr.-WR
On getting the ball a lot today:
"It is just like how we practice. It translates to the game. It is the same game we have been playing since we were little kids.  Just making plays and taking advantage of the opportunities as they come to us. Furman made 1-2 more plays than we did and they came out with the win."

On getting his first 100-yard game:
"It is what it is.  We didn't get the win.  Stats are stats, we didn't get the win, which is the goal.  That's the biggest stat that you can get as a team. We didn't get it done and that 100-yards doesn't really mean anything."

On getting ready for next week:
"We already have The Citadel on the clock. This game is already over. We have to put it to the side and prepare for next week."

Ty Boeck – Sr.-LB
On the interception in the fourth quarter:
"I knew when they did that bunch in the boundary, I knew what play they were going to run.  I knew that if they threw it to No. 3, I was going to be right there under it.  It happened, I just wish I could have capitalized more."

On refocusing for the next game:
"The only thing we can do is win the next game and attack next week at practice.  I think this team is going to learn from this and I think we will definitely take it in a positive way."

On Furman making more plays:
"We have to be way better on third down.  I think they went 9/16 on third down and that's just unacceptable.  We just have to stay focused and we gotta keep our eyes right, know what we are doing and communicate defensively.  We just have to be a lot better in that area."

On playing without Kam Jones in the second half:
"It's next man up.  Alex came in and he played well.  He is a true freshman, so props to him. It's a credit to him.  He knows what he is doing. Obviously, losing Kam hurts, but we know we are going to be just as good with the next guy up."

Preston Hutchinson – Sr.-QB
On absorbing this loss as a team:
"It hurts.  It really stings.  It is hard to put into words how badly it really stings. We just have to rally from the film and come Monday, show up."

"I think the way they are celebrating and the way we are down shows the expectations of this game and how hurtful it really is."

On refocusing for the next game:
"Just got to watch the film, get better and come into The Citadel week. One of my coaches I played for in the past had a 24-hour rule.  You have 24 hours to celebrate a win or 24 hours to mourn a loss.  After this 24 hours it is on to the next one.  That is how you do it."

On how not having Ailym Ford changed what you were trying to do offensively:
"Ailym is a hell of a player.  It hurts missing him, but we have some really talented backs behind him, so same game plan,"

Devonnsha Maxwell – Sr.-DL
On the focus moving forward:
"It doesn't change anything.  The way I am coming at it is that I am gong to do everything I can to make sure it doesn't happen again.  Our focus stays the same.  We are still going out there and taking everything.  We still have everything in front of us."

On the play of the defense:
"I wouldn't say we were successful at all.  We gave up 24 points and we could not stop the run play.  That is what Monday is for.  We have to get back to work."

On playing without Kam in the second half:
"We all have to step up.  We know it is not a drop off.  Alex is a great player, Bo is a great player.  We just have to pick those guys up and make sure they are ready to go."
