CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga men's and women's cross country teams will head to Huntsville, Ala., for the NCAA South Region Championships Friday morning.
The women's 6-kilometer race will begin at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time with the men's 10K to follow an hour later. The championships will take place at the John Hunt Cross Country Running Park and is hosted by North Alabama.
"We are looking forward to the competition in the south Region this Friday," Mocs head coach Andy Meyer said. "Both teams have had a good year. We have improved upon our placings from last year at each meet and hope to continue that Friday."
Senior Faith Brown will run her last meet this week having run the fastest season of her career.
"She has had an outstanding year," Meyer said. "Faith will be missed from a leadership aspect. She is everything a student-athlete here at UTC should be."

Senior Jonathan Boyd and Ryan Phillips will be running their final collegiate race.
"Both have been great contributors to this program and university," Meyer said. "Ryan took a little bit to find his footing here but had a breakout season last year and has continued it into this season.
"Jonathan has been our leader since he walked onto campus. For all four years, Jonathan has been our first or second man and a two-time Academic All-American."
