Postgame Quotes
Â
Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening statement after 108-55 win over Covenant.
"Yeah, I thought it was a good game by our guys. I thought we handled it well and went at them early. It never hurts to hit shots early, certainly knocking down threes, hitting 22 in the game always helps. I thought for the most part we played the right way. I thought we were unselfish with the ball and getting guys open shots. I'd like to see a little bit better defense in the second half."
Â
On getting all the available players time.
"It's very helpful. We're still trying to be as sharp as possible on both sides of the ball and we still have work to do there. We're getting guys reps that don't sometimes get them in practice and certainly not in games. Getting them out under the lights in game conditions will benefit us."
Â
On importance of this game.
"It was another chance to sharpen up on both sides of the floor in a game situation. We wanted to get some guys on the court. We still have to get better at a lot of things. I think it definitely helps us. Obviously, the score was pretty one-sided, but I think to be out there and get a lot of guys on the court was great to work on the different concepts."
Â
Sam Alexis, Fr.-F
On knowing when it was going to be a special day.
"When I hit the first shot, I knew it was going to be a good day. Especially when I got the lob dunk, I felt it a little bit."
Â
On providing a spark off the bench.
"Coming off the bench, I just want to go in there and play my part, play the role coach wants me to do. Just go in there and get rebounds, box out, talking on defense, communicating with teammates. I just make sure I have the same energy when I'm on the bench, too."
