Postgame Quotes

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening statement after 81-74 win over Tennessee Tech.
"We're still figuring out a lot of things, whether it's the lineup, how deep we are, how we can play, all that good stuff. It was a poor first half and allowed them to shoot the three, they were feeling good about themselves and I don't think we did a good enough job defensively. We had a discussion at half and I thought we were more into the game. It helps when shots are falling, but I thought we did a better job of moving the ball and playing the defensive end. That's how we have to play."

On the team's response in the second half.
"I think it shows a little of intestinal fortitude, grit and fight to come back in the second half and play much better defensively and offensively. I give a ton of credit to Tennessee Tech. This was a very scary team because they do a lot of things well. For us to respond, it shows some toughness and grit. It was a great response from our guys."

On the progress defensively.
"I think there is something there to work with. We were challenging them. At times, I feel like we're trying to be in the right spots defensively, get switches down, just trying to do the right things. But in the end, it's about stopping the other team. It sounds silly, but that's what it's all about. The defense was different in the second half and I'm proud of them for that."

Dalvin White, Gr.-G
On contributing on the scoring side.
"Just trying to stay focused and help lead the team to win. When I get the ball, I'm just ready to hit open shots. I like the corner threes because I feel like it's harder for the defense to rotate. Once I see one go in, in front of the bench, I feel like they're all going to go in."

On defense turning to offense.
"We try to focus more on the defensive end. Once we get it down on the defensive end, the offense will click. We just try to stay focused and once we get momentum a little bit, it creates a rhythm for us."
