- The 11th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs claimed 31-21 victory spoiling Homecoming at The Citadel Saturday afternoon in Johnson Hagood Stadium…Mocs are 7-2 overall, 5-1 in the SoCon…the Bulldogs move to 2-7, 2-5 in league play.
- Entered the game ranked No. 11 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and No. 12 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Rankings.
- 5-1 in the SoCon standings…move into a tie for second with Mercer and Furman which were idle…Samford is on top at 6-0…Bulldogs come to Finley Stadium next Saturday (Nov. 12), while the Paladins head to Macon.
- All-time record of 561-547-35 (.506) in 1,143rd game…115th season.
- 164-164-2 (.500) in 330 SoCon games…46th campaign in the league.
- 30+points for sixth time this season…won eight in a row when scoring 30+ points going back to last October's 37-34 overtime loss at VMI…14-3 under Rusty Wright when reaching 30 on the good side of the ledger.
- Generated three turnovers and a +2 margin on the day…two fumble recoveries – Reuben Lowery III and Ty Boeck – raising the season total to 11 on the season…entered the game ranked seventh in the nation behind Elon and Morehead State with 11 each.
- Six wins in the last seven visits to Johnson Hagood Stadium.
- Flu hit the Mocs late this week with several starters or members of the 2 deep limited or out.

- 16.8 yards per completion today with 202 yards on a 12 of 20 line with a touchdown and an interception…came into the game with a 14.56 average ranking 10th in the country.
- Two penalties for 30 yards…came into today third in number of penalties (now 33) and fourth in penalties per game (now 40.44).
- +2 turnover margin adds to the SoCon-leading total entering the game…now +9 (1.00 per game) with 21 takeaways (11 fumble/10 interceptions).and 12 turnovers (4 fumbles/8 interceptions)..
- Two Bulldogs scores in the fourth quarter were the first TDs against the Mocs defense in the fourth quarter this season…now 76-17 in the final 15 minutes this season.
 
 
INDIVIDUAL
- Ailym Ford rushed for 130 yards on a season-high 29 carries with two TDs…fifth multi-TD game of the season and fifth 100-yard game in eight starts.
- Second score was his 30th career rushing TD becoming just the fourth Mocs with 30 or more…joined Jacob Huesman '15 (43), Derrick Craine '16 (31) and Keon Williams '14 (30)…two more and he has the most by a running back at UTC.
- Ford recorded a record-tying 16th 100-yard game for his career…matches Gwain Durden '80 who passed away over the summer.
- Ford now has 953 yards for the season…119.1 per game…need 47 yards to become the first Moc with three 1,000-yard campaigns.
- SoCon tackle for loss and sack leader Jay Person added to his season totals with 2.5 TFLs including one sack…raises totals to 16.0 TFLs and 8.0 sacks…23.5 TFLs and 12.5 sacks over last 14 games.
- Person is 3.0 TFLs off the season record of 19.0 set by Davis Tull (2012) and Dale Warren (2016).
- Person (17.5) is 2.5 sacks short of becoming the fifth Moc with 20 or more in his career.
- DT Devonnsha Maxwell had eight tackles with 1.0 TFL, a sack…continued his assault on the career records in both categories.
- Maxwell now has 52.0 TFLs which is 8.0 shy of Davis Tull's '14 60.0…37.5 of Maxwell's TFLs have come in SoCon contests.
- D-Max is one step closer to the school and SoCon record for sacks with 35.0…two off Tull's 37.0.
- Ty Boeck recorded nine tackles…his eighth was No. 300 for his career…9th Moc all-time with 300+…1st since Nakevion Leslie '16 ended with 305.
- Boeck added a forced fumble and a fumble recovery…4th career forced fumbles and 7th career recovery.
- Reuben Lowery III had a career-high nine tackles with 1.0 for loss on his first career sack…also had a fumble recovery.
- Fifth interception of the season for Kam Brown…came into the game with the SoCon lead…7th of his career.
- Brown added six tackles including one for loss…was one of the walking wounded with the flu bug…one of his six stops was at the five running down Citadel RB Braden Walker on a 62-yard run at the Mocs 5-yard line.
