Postgame Quotes
Â
Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening statement after 82-73 victory at Middle Tennessee.
"I thought it was a hard-fought win against a great Middle Tennessee team. They're obviously tough to beat at home. The possession game was going to matter. We didn't take care of the ball that well, but we only allowed six offensive rebounds which is huge against a physical team. I thought our guys played strong down the stretch and we were able to get stops down the stretch. Really proud of these guys on the road."
Â
On the overall feel of the game.
"It wasn't a pretty finesse game. You had to bring some toughness and grit to the game. They were really physical, especially on
Jake Stephens. We had a number of guys play within themselves and took care of the ball for the most part. It was just a gritty and hard-fought win."
Â
On moving forward.
"Hopefully this builds our confidence a little bit. We have a lot of work to do. We're not a finished product or even close to it. That's individually and collectively. But to win a game like this against a team like MTSU on the road, it shows some toughness. Hopefully our guys add some confidence from doing that."

Jake Stephens, Gr., C
Thoughts after that win.
"We're resilient. That was a great team. They won 20 in-a-row here. It was a fun place to play and they do a lot of great things with good athletes. That's a great game to win."
Â
On the guard play.
"All of our guards are awesome and do such a good job of handling the pressure. They're always making the right plays and we love having Dalvin back out there. We're continuing to get healthy and get people back, hopefully we keep getting healthy when conference play rolls around.
