Postgame Quotes

Dan Earl, Head Coach
Opening thoughts after 76-68 loss at The Citadel.
"Credit to The Citadel, they played harder than us and that's disappointing to me. That's my fault. They seemed faster to the ball than us. Neither team was that great offensively in the first half, and then they got hot in the second half. Those percentages, that just can't happen. It's disappointing because I thought we didn't take advantage of some things in the first half and then defensively, it's a sign of effort. We just didn't do enough."
Â
On shots not falling at times.
"We did get some good looks and didn't make shots. We can't let shot making affect the other side of the ball, precision on offense, your spacing, and certainly not let it affect the defensive side of the ball. We played pretty good defense in the first half, but in the second half to give up that percentage and 50 points, it's just unacceptable."
Â
On moving forward.
"We did not handle the game well. I have to look in the mirror and figure out to get us to play harder, come out with a different attitude and approach to the game. I'll certainly do that. We'll have our work cut out for us again, we have to have a different approach to the game."

Jamal Johnson, Gr., G
On putting up shots over the break to stay in a groove.
"Me and my dad, we got some shots up after that Georgia game. I wanted to keep my legs going and stay fresh over the holidays and be ready for conference play."
Â
On the difference.
"We dug ourselves too deep. After it was tied at halftime, we came out and made a couple shots, but they answered with a big run. After that, every time we came back, they hit a big shot. They wanted it more than us tonight and we gave it to them. We didn't fight hard enough."
