CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --- The Chattanooga women's indoor track and field team will head to Birmingham for its final regular season meet this Friday at the CrossPlex.
Â
"This will be our tune up race before our conference indoor meet," Mocs head coach Andy Meyer said. "this second Samford meet is always very fast. They do a great job of having top competition for us to run against."
Â
The meet gets underway at 11:00 a.m. Eastern time with the women's shot put. UTC freshman Hannah Dearing will take her first collegiate try at the event.
Â
The women's long jump will follow with Kimbra Dunning looking to continue her improvement in the event after much success on Sunday at the USA Invitational in the same location.
Â
"We will have kids move into events more like what they will run at conference," Meyer said. "They will be working on finishing speed and hard race efforts. We hope to post some very fast times/season-bests, and no one get injured.
Â
"We will also be trying out different combos for our relays and trying to put people in the best positions for team success."
Â
Chattanooga will have two teams in the 4x400 meter relay with team members and order of competition to be decided on race day.
Â
Dunning, along with Imani Bryant will compete in the 60-meter dash. Brooke Rieves will join Carley Burt and Rebekah Pass in the 400-meter dash. Pass and Rieves will run the 800-meter race along with Sydney Cansler and Emmy Davis while Faith Brown and Ashtyn Hagood will race the Mile.
Â
Lesley Green and Emma Russum will run both the 3000- and 5000-meter races. Justine Glass will be in the 3000-meter run while Camden Morris and Allie Potter will join the pair in the 5000-meter run.
Â
The men's cross country team will compete in three events. Aaron Isbell, Kaigen Mulkey and Eammon O'Bryant will run the Mile and the 3000-meter events. Jasper Wilson will compete in both the 3000- and 5000-meter runs and will compete alongside Jonathan Boyd, Lane Hollis, Eric Mitchell and Ryan Phillips in the longer race.
Â
Results will be posted online following the event. Check the schedule for live stats.
