BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Chattanooga women's indoor track and field team closed out the regular season Friday at the Bulldog Invite hosted by Samford at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Imani Bryant got the Mocs started off with a PR in the 60-meter dash and qualified for the semifinals where she once again topped her best time, running a sub-eight at 7.98 seconds.

"Imani ran very well in her heat," Mocs head coach
Andy Meyer said. "Much better start and maintained position all through the race. She keeps getting faster and faster with each race. Se is putting everything together at just the right time."

Justine Glass finished fourth in the 3000-meter run with her first sub-10:00 time of her career. She ran a PR 9:58.20, nearly 10 seconds faster than her previous top time at the distance.
Lesley Green shaved a chunk off her previous best at 10:02.06 and placing sixth overall.
Emma Russum gave the Mocs three top 10 finishes in the event with a time of 10:16.20.

"Justine and Lesley ran their splits, were patient and accelerated through the field," Meyer said. "Both had an excellent finishing kicks and ended up with great results in a very good field."

In the men's mile,
Eammon O'Bryant won his heat and took 26 seconds off his best time for a new PR of 4:25.62.
Kaigen Mulkey placed 10
th for the Mocs in the race and set a PR of 4:23.07.
Aaron Isbell ran his first Mile and posted a time of 4:23.91.

"Eammon won his heat with a great kick," Meyer said. "He bided his time and kicked hard with 500m left and easily won. Aaron and Kaigen ran smart races in their heats to both break 4:25."

Faith Brown posted a win in the women's Mile with a PR time of 5:26.39 and
Ashtyn Hagood, in a different heat, was just over a second behind at 5:27.78.

"Faith ran just like Eammon's mile and made a strong move with about 300 meters left and pulled away from everyone, "Meyer said.
Â
Sydney Cansler posted a PR in the 800-meter run and
Rebekah Pass ran in her first race at that distance.
Emmy Davis was the Mocs top finisher, just missing out on her PR with a consistent 2:22.33.

Jonathan Boyd led four Mocs in the 5000 meter run, finishing third overall at 15:26.49.
Ryan Phillips placed fifth (15:31.78) followed immediately by
Jasper Wilson (15:43.24).
Eric Mitchell shaved nearly 11 seconds off his previous best time at 16:07.10.

In his first 3000-meter run,
Aaron Isbell was the first UTC runner to finish with a time of 8:50.74.
Kaigen Mulkey ran a 9:08.16 time while O'Bryant, also running his first at the distance, posted a time of 9:39.54.

"Aaron hit his splits in the 3K and had a great race for him," Meyer said. "Kaigen fell off a little bit but rallied in the last 300 to outkick a couple kids.

"The guys in the 5k continued to race well and had excellent placing putting three in Top Six," Meyer added. "They started at a good pace and finished hard passing several in the last mile."

The Mocs fielded two teams in the 4x400 meter Relay in preparation for the upcoming Southern Conference Championships in a couple of weeks.

"We're very pleased with our results with everyone at or surpassing their best performances," Meyer said. "Great way to go into our conference meet in two weeks.

"Coach Gadson has our sprinters flying; Coach Griffin has our mid-distance kids flying and the distance kids keep getting faster each meet. We are so far ahead of where we were this time last year."

The Southern Conference Championships will be held February 26
th and 27
th in Lexington, Va., at the VMI Corps Physical Training Facility.
