HATTIESBURG, Miss. --- The Chattanooga Mocs men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 blanking to Southern Miss in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon inside the Southern Miss Tennis Complex in Hattiesburg, Miss.
 
Following the loss, Chattanooga falls to 1-4 on the young season. Southern Miss improves to 2-1 after the victory.
 
"For our first time outside this season, the guys really played at a strong level," said head coach Chuck Merzbacher. "The doubles came down to a 10-8 tiebreak at No. 1.
 
"The singles were split sets at No. 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Give Southern Miss credit for the win. This match was close and hard fought."
 
Chattanooga returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, February 13 as it faces South Alabama at 2:00 p.m. ET in Mobile. When available, live stats and results will be posted at GoMocs.com.
