NEW PROVIDENCE, BAHAMAS---The Chattanooga Mocs men's golf team finished eighth at the Nexus Collegiate. The Mocs closed the tourney with a final round 316 to move up to eighth passing Jacksonville State with a total of 965.

Braedon Wear led the effort with a 3-over 75. It was one of eight cards in the field to end at 75 or better. In fact, the low round of the day was a level-par 72. He was supported by Paul Conroy's 76 as Alex Cobb and Parker Highsmith added 82 and 83, respectively. Gabe Hunter had the drop score of 84 as Leon Bader turned in 83 playing as an individual.
 
Conroy earned his third top 10 of the campaign finishing ninth with a 3-day total of 229. Bader joined him in the top 30 with a score of 240, good enough to tie for 30th. Wear wasn't far off ending at 242.
 
Host Auburn claimed the 3-shot win over Ohio State as the two had matching 306s today. The Buckeyes' Maxwell Moldovan's 222 (+6) ended up with medalist honors.
 
"Despite the score, our results were more in line with the competition today," interim head coach Miles Moseley explained. "The boys fought hard. It was exhausting, but they really tried hard to maintain a good attitude in difficult circumstances. It's time to get back to work and prepare for Vegas."
 
Next up is a trip west for the Jackrabbit Invitational. South Dakota State hosts the 2-day, 54-hole event at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada on March 11 and 12.
